Little details are very importan

For a deep cleaning service, switch plates are often overlooked but can harbor dirt, skin oils, and bacteria. A professional approach is:

  • Supplies

Screwdriver (optional

Microfiber cloths

Mild degreaser or all-purpose cleaner

Disinfectant

Small detailing brush or toothbrush

  • Basic Deep-Clean Method
  1. Dust the plate and surrounding wall.
  2. Spray cleaner onto a cloth (not directly onto the switch).
  3. Wipe the plate thoroughly, including edges and corners.
  4. Use a small brush around seams and screw heads.
  5. Disinfect the plate and allow the required contact time.
  6. Buff dry with a clean microfiber cloth.
  • For Heavy Buildup

If plates are very dirty, yellowed, or have paint splatter:

Reinstall after fully dry.

Turn off power at the breaker.

Remove the switch plate.

Wash the plate in warm water with dish soap.

Scrub with a soft brush.

Disinfect and dry completely.
